A cost-effective chassis that is specifically built for the needs of your department, designed from the ground up for firefighting.
CUSTOM INTERIOR IS FIREFIGHTER READY One reward of stepping up to a custom chassis is an interior with a host of features that are often unavailable on a commercial chassis. In the Saber, these include quick access to engine fluids, electrical systems and power distribution system through an access panel in the engine cover – without ever tilting the cab. There’s also custom quality room inside, with the three inches additional legroom for the first officer. And if you need more room, specify the Saber with a 12- or 22-inch raised crew roof.
- Seating for up to eight firefighters
- Lower engine tunnel for improved visibility
- Absence of a cross-tunnel between the cab and crew cab enhances en-route communications
- Driver-friendly dashboard with easy-to-reach switches lets the driver check systems at a glance
- Electric/hydraulic cab tilt system for power train access
- Pierce Micro Control hard-wired electrical system
STRAIGHTFORWARD ELECTRONICS GET THE JOB DONE Saber’s straightforward approach extends to its hard-wired electrical systems, which are preferred by some departments. The color-coded wiring and loom-covered harnesses are hand-fabricated, installed and tested prior to delivery. For maximum access and visibility, electrical systems are nstalled after body assembly and painting, and every Saber comes with a complete wiring schematic so you have total knowledge available for every system. With the Saber, the traditional approach wins.
- Multi-leaf suspension for excellent handling, a smoother ride, reduced frame deflection and less front-end bounce.
- Optional enclosed top-mount pump panel.
- Optional 4-wheel-drive system, built to get you efficiently across slippery surfaces and over tough terrain.
- Wide 22"x12" (55.88 cm x 30.28 cm) cab entrance steps provide both driver and officer with quick and safe entry and exit.
