The Hawk® was created by Pierce specifically for the demanding situations of wildland and urban-interface firefighting. It will easily take firefighters into off-road terrain that can be difficult or even unpassable for large, Type I engines. This is an initial attack engine that can reach fires in rough terrain before they threaten homes and lives.
- Each pumper designed/engineered specifically to the customer's needs.
- Tow bar rated at 20,000 lb. as standard. Located at the rear of the tailboard. Accessible without crawling under the truck. The unique design can also serve as a tie off point to stabilize loads without worry of chaffing rope.
Pumps
- Waterous, Hale, or Darley Midship (500 to 1000 gpm) & PTO (250 to 1000 gpm) pumps available.
- Exclusive Pierce Husky foam systems available.
- Exclusive Pierce Hercules Compressed Air Foam Systems available.
- Black vinyl-covered pump panels that reduce glare for the operator are standard. Stainless steel panels are available.
- Removable pump panels provide access to the pump for maintenance.
Electrical
- All electrical systems are coded by color and function every three inches.
- Harnesses are loom protected.
- Deutsch connectors are utilized to help prevent corrosion.
Body
- Aluminum extruded rub rails, bolted on for easy repair.
- Two body lengths and several body configurations available.
- Bodies are of a formed and welded construction for durable, long lasting design without the unnecessary weight.
- Exclusive Pierce underslung steel body supports featuring three-point isolated-mount system. This reduces torsional stress and road shock from being transmitted into the body. The underslung design prevents compartment floors from sagging after years of use.
- Interior of all compartments are painted with multispec to hide dirt, abrasions, and protect from oil, gas, and hydraulic spills.
- Automotive-style hinged doors constructed with double pan, double seals, enclosed latches, and .25" hinge pins.
- Roll-up doors with lifetime warranty (available in satin or painted finish).
- Hosebed dividers are designed with an extrusion surrounding the sheet to provide a stiffer and superior divider.
- Diamond plate overlays in potential high scuff areas are just that "overlays" and not an integral part of the body for easy replacement if they become damaged.
- Handrails are Pierce's exclusive "cross knurled" design to reduce hand slippage.
- All running boards and tailboard are spaced from body to improve water run-off.
