Pierce supplies the United States Forest Service and Region 5 in California with a version of the Model 62. Local government fire protection agencies are also using Model 62 for combating wildland and urban interface fires.

- Exclusive Pierce underslung steel body supports featuring three-point isolated-mount system. This reduces torsional stress and road shock from being transmitted into the body. The underslung design prevents compartment floors from sagging after years of use.
- Interior of all compartments are painted with multispec to hide dirt, abrasions, and protect from oil, gas, and hydraulic spills.
- Rear pump controls allow for compartments to extend to the back of the cab.
