The Pierce Solution.

For the first time ever in the fire and emergency industry, Pierce is offering both choice and technology in terms of engine power. This is The Pierce® Solution: two top engine options, a cleaner Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) delivery and all the Pierce muscle you’ve come to expect.

Detroit Diesel Now Drives with Pierce
With proven performance, improved fuel economy and cutting-edge BlueTec® emissions technology, the Detroit Diesel DD13 engine has it all. Especially now that it drives with Pierce.

Engine Provides Long Time Value
The DD13 engine features an inline 6 configuration that displaces 12.8 liters with an impressive torque curve. A robust rear gear train and a ribbed cast-iron block for decreased noise, vibration and harshness (NVH), and a B50 life of one million miles provides long-time value in terms of reliable powerhouse performance.

The DD13 and innovative BlueTec emissions technology combine exhaust gas recirculation (EGR), diesel oxidation catalyst and a diesel particulate filter with an SCR catalyst to deliver a powerhouse that delivers the power you need while meeting EPA 2010 emissions standards.

Saves Time and Money
It also provides the longest scheduled maintenance interval in its class all while keeping up with Pierce’s urgent demands in fire and emergency. In addition, SCR is currently in use worldwide – saving approximately $480 in fuel costs per truck, per year, according to Overdrive Magazine.

The Detroit Diesel DD13 will be available in Pierce custom chassis up to 500 hp with 1,650 ft-lb of torque power. More information can be found at DetroitDiesel.com/engines/dd13.
