Custom Chassis

Custom Chassis

A chassis doesn’t determine everything. Just how you ride, handle, stop and set-up at the scene. That’s why Pierce devotes such attention to every detail of every chassis we build. As a result, we deliver chassis that set the standard for reliability, durability, ergonomics and advanced technology.

Dash CF

We used key components of the Pierce® PUC™ to build the most effective work environment in the industry. You get drastically improved space for both driver and officer, lower step heights, more storage options, a large windshield, and drop daylight windows for better visibility and scene assessment.

Quantum Chassis

The Pierce® Quantum® is the truck of choice for departments that demand the absolute best and nothing less. You’ll get the exact truck to meet your unique needs, loaded with the options that are vital to your success.

Velocity Chassis

We asked firefighters to envision the ideal fire truck. Then we listened carefully. They told us about practical things that would make a truck easier to use. They identified space, storage, safety, maintenance and performance improvements. We wrote it all down and turned a team of engineers loose with one goal: make it happen.

Impel Chassis

A fire truck designed and built for one department may not be the best configuration for another. So Pierce is partnering the new Velocity™ chassis with the Impel™, a more price-conscious base design with many of the advantages and options available on the Velocity chassis.

Arrow XT Chassis

No brag, just fact: The Arrow XT™ from Pierce has everything you need for urban firefighting, and nothing you don’t. Bearing the name that defined the modern fire chassis, the Arrow XT is the consummate firefighter’s truck.

PUC

PUC

The PUC eliminates the pumphouse so you can build your apparatus around your needs and not the pump. It minimizes the vehicular space used for fire suppression and maximizes the space for tools and equipment. Yet it still provides big pump, foam and CAFS capabilities for when they're needed. PUC eliminates the need to build the entire body around the pump and the pumphouse.

Pumpers

Pumpers

What looks like a detail in the factory can make a huge difference at the scene. If it can make your rig perform better, we’ve addressed it: design, materials and manufacturing. Every aspect of quality, fit and finish. Because we’ve engineered in performance from the start, we don’t need to compensate for poor design with thicker, heavier stock.

Rescues

RESCUES

Pierce selects every material with one question in mind: Will it perform the task it needs to perform? For example, we use 304L stainless steel because it’s low in carbon and its excellent atmospheric corrosion resistance makes it perfect as an exterior body sheet material and ideal for welding.

Aerials

LADDERS

Pierce® Ladders are designed to power through the hazards: 50 mph winds, uneven terrain, a quarter inch of ice build-up. And they can be equipped with red, green, blue or white LED rung lighting for superior illumination.

PLATFORMS

Both safety and performance start with engineering. The industry’s finest product development team is always working on improvements so you can position easily and confidently. As a result, you can do your job safer and more effectively – whether that means rescuing someone from an 8th story window, putting a ventilation team on a roof, or setting up a master stream for a defensive operation.

Sky-Boom

Like all Pierce apparatus, the Sky-Boom is engineered to perform and to last. Risk of potential damage is reduced because three essential pieces – the completely enclosed waterway, the extension cylinder, and electrical wiring – are all located inside the boom for maximum protection. If repairs are ever needed, you can remove the entire waterway in a single piece by sliding it out.

Tankers

TANKERS

Pierce tankers are easy to use and the hardest working in the industry. Quality engineering and innovative designs ensure on-the-scene confidence. And when you purchase a Pierce tanker, you also get a support team and the industry’s strongest service and parts network working for you 24/7/365.

Wildland

WILDLAND TYPE 1

Pierce® Wildland Type 1 is short on wheelbase and overall length, yet big on ground clearance – maximizing mobility over stretches of unforgiving urban wildland. These vehicles offer over 200 cubic feet of compartmentation along with a 1500 gpm single stage pump and pump and roll capabilities, so you can respond to any challenge.

WILDLAND TYPE 3

Designed to answer the urgent call in a more complex scene, Pierce® Wildland Type 3 is equipped with PTO pumps that flow up to 1000 gpm, along with the capacity to carry a 5-person crew. These vehicles also boast all-wheel drive and a shorter wheelbase to promote maneuverability offroad and on challenging narrow roadways.

WILDLAND TYPE 4

Pierce® Wildland Type 4 is built with extensive tank capacities to arm you for bigger threats across stretches of harsh wildland. These vehicles are designed to carry 750-850 gallons of water to scenes with a dry, hot climate and minimal vegetation.

By Purpose

bomb response

In listening to your apparatus requirements, Pierce helps determine if one of 500 standard compartment configuration lengths will meet these needs. If not, we will customize your apparatus, making a one-of-a-kind configuration for your specific application.

industrial

Innovative Pierce® technologies like the Husky® foam system and a comprehensive list of performance and safety features offer every advantage for industrial fire prevention and response. Throughout the chassis, from bumper to bumper, you get the best fire suppression tools available – all from a single source and supported by the Pierce dealer network 24/7/365.

changeable response unit

One C.R.U. can cover a wide range of incidents – brush fires, HAZMAT, scene overhaul, ice/water rescue, ATV transport, and much more. Units are designed to be changed-over in under 3 minutes. Heavy duty castors allow the units to be moved and stored easily.

Technology

Tak-4 Independent Suspension

Gaping potholes, daylong rush hours and clueless drivers with 300-hp cell phones. Getting to the scene has never been easy. That’s why Pierce created TAK-4® Independent Front Suspension (IFS), which stops faster, corners better, improves handling, offers better ride quality and is far more maneuverable than any straight-axle truck on the road.

safety systems

Pierce® chassis are researched, engineered, tested and built with industry-leading safety features and equipment. Some of these innovations are apparent while others are invisible, but all are essential to helping safeguard your most precious asset — your safety.

Command zone

Leading-edge, multiplex technology forms the backbone of the Command Zone™ system. Pierce fully integrates this time-saving and highly reliable technology throughout the entire fire apparatus. Proven in the auto industry, multiplexing is a simple method of integrating a computerized electrical system into your fire apparatus.

Tire blow-out system

The Pierce® tire blowout protection band keeps the tire on the wheel, giving apparatus drivers control after a blowout and allowing them to get to their destination. Having a cushion of rubber between the wheel and the road surface provides better control, maneuverability, tire stability and cornering at a critical time.
