APPLETON, Wis. (January 17, 2014)
- Pierce Manufacturing Inc., an Oshkosh Corporation [NYSE: OSK] company, presented Specialist Noel Bossen of Fort Bliss, Texas, a customized Ford F-150 4 x 4 SuperCrew pickup truck as the winner in its Support for the Long Haul program to benefit the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (NFFF). Since forming a relationship with the NFFF, Pierce has generated donations of more than $340,000 to assist the organization.

"Pierce is proud to champion the important mission of the NFFF through programs like Support for the Long Haul,” said Jim Johnson, Oshkosh Corporation executive vice president and president, Fire & Emergency.  “The monies raised will directly assist the families and loved ones of firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice.”

Specialist Bossen was presented the grand prize while on duty at Fort Bliss. In a surprise ceremony, she was called to the Fort Bliss Fire Department where three of the department’s Pierce pumpers were driven away to reveal the firefighter inspired Ford F-150 4 x 4 SuperCrew pickup truck. Specialist Bossen is a member of the 511th Intelligence Company.

“With the help of partners like Pierce Manufacturing and support from Pritchard Auto Company, we are able to continue to expand our programming for the families and loved ones of fallen firefighters,” said Ron Siarnicki, National Fallen Firefighters Foundation executive director. “We are grateful to Pierce Manufacturing for helping us raise awareness, and funds, so we can fulfill our mission.”

Pierce Vice President of Sales and Marketing Bobby J. Williams added, “Pierce and its dealer family are proud to support the NFFF through Support for the Long Haul. We are moving forward with plans to further the goals of this fine organization in 2014.”

“On behalf of Pritchard Auto Company, we’re proud and honored to assist Pierce and the NFFF in the Support for the Long Haul campaign,” said Joe Pritchard, president of Pritchard Auto Company. “Pritchard is proud to be a partner of this important cause.”

The NFFF is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to honoring the memory of America’s fallen firefighters as it allocates resources to aid their surviving spouses and children with scholarship assistance for educational and job training costs, and for peer networks that offer families and coworkers essential emotional support.
