StairClimb2026_BannerThe 14th annual 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb at Lambeau Field will commemorate the 25th year since the September 11th terrorist attacks. Registration is now open for the event co-sponsored by the Green Bay Metro Fire Department and Pierce Manufacturing.

APPLETON, Wis. (May 20, 2026)Pierce Manufacturing Inc., an Oshkosh Corporation (NYSE:OSK) business, announced registration is now open for the 14th annual 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb at Lambeau Field in Green Bay. Co-sponsored by the Green Bay Metro Fire Department and Pierce Manufacturing, this year’s climb will take place on Saturday, September 12, 2026, marking 25 years since the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. Open to all who wish to honor the 343 firefighters who lost their lives, all funds raised from the event will benefit the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (NFFF). Participants are encouraged to register early at piercemfg.com/climb.

“This year marks 25 years since 9/11, which is a day that carries deep meaning for the fire service and communities across the country,” said Assistant Chief Ray Fuiten of the Green Bay Metro Fire Department. “The 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb is a powerful way for us to come together, reflect and honor the 343 firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice. We are committed to making this year’s event the most impactful yet, ensuring their legacy continues to inspire future generations.”

Recognized as one of the largest stair climb events in the nation, the 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb at Lambeau Field continues to grow each year. In 2025, more than 2,000 participants from across the fire service community, along with their families, friends and supporters, gathered to honor the fallen and raise funds for the NFFF. In recognition of the 25th memorial, organizers aim to make the 2026 event the largest and most attended in its history.

During the event, participants climb the equivalent of 110 stories, the height of the World Trade Center towers, on the steps of Lambeau Field. Each climber carries an honor badge displaying the name and photograph of one of the fallen firefighters, symbolically completing the heroic journey. Upon reaching the equivalent of the 78th floor, which was the highest point firefighters reached on 9/11, climbers will ring a fire bell in solemn tribute.

“The 25th observance of 9/11 is a moment of reflection, remembrance and unity,” said Assistant Chief Eric Jeltema of the Green Bay Metro Fire Department. “This climb is more than a physical challenge; it’s a deeply personal experience that connects participants to the bravery and sacrifice of those we honor. We encourage the entire community to join us in making this year’s event the largest and most meaningful yet.”

Event details are as follows:

  • Registration Fees: $35 per climber through July 11, $40 from July 12 to August 15 and $45 August 16 through event day.
  • Event T-Shirts: Available for participants who register by August 15. All climbers will receive an honor badge.
