APPLETON, Wis. (July 28, 2026)Pierce Manufacturing Inc., an Oshkosh Corporation (NYSE:OSK) business, today announced the Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, has placed an order for three Pierce® Ascendant® 107’ Heavy-Duty Aerial Ladders. The order, secured through Pierce dealer Siddons-Martin Emergency Group, reflects the department’s focus on enhancing operational efficiency, maneuverability and aerial reach to support its expanding service area.

Established in 1902, the Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department serves a population of more than 172,000 residents across 11 fire stations. With 242 uniformed personnel responding to approximately 25,000 calls annually, the department delivers fire suppression, technical rescue and advanced emergency medical services across a diverse and rapidly growing community.

“Our city continues to grow, bringing new challenges such as increased density, apartment complexes and tighter access areas,” said Deputy Chief Jamie Bigelow of the Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department. “The Pierce Ascendant 107’ single rear axle aerial ladders provide the maneuverability we need to navigate confined streets and firehouse spaces, along with the reach required to effectively serve multi-story structures. We’re confident the apparatus will play a critical role in supporting our crews and protecting our city.”

The department selected Pierce based on its reputation for quality and craftsmanship, as well as a positive experience working with the Siddons-Martin team. Hands-on demonstrations and opportunities to evaluate apparatus performance helped reinforce the decision, along with the ability to customize the trucks to meet Murfreesboro’s specific operational requirements.

The (3) Pierce Ascendant 107’ Heavy-Duty Aerial Ladders Feature:

  • Enforcer™ chassis
  • PACCAR MX-13 engine
  • Waterous CSU 2,000 GPM pump
  • 500-gallon water tank
  • 107’ Ascendant aerial ladder with single rear axle configuration for enhanced maneuverability
  • Frontal and side roll impact protection systems
  • Integrated body camera system
  • 360-degree high-visibility scene lighting
  • Pierce Control Zone™ pump panel
  • Remote control aerial operation
  • Aerial tip Lyfe pulley rescue system

Designed to address the department’s operational environment, the Ascendant aerial ladders combine extended vertical reach with a compact, maneuverable footprint, which is ideal for navigating hilly terrain, tight streets and densely developed areas.

“The Ascendant aerial ladder delivers the reach, flexibility and performance departments like Murfreesboro need to respond with confidence,” said Kirk Givler, executive vice president of sales with Siddons-Martin Emergency Group. “We’re proud to partner with the department and support their mission with apparatus designed for both current demands and future growth.”

Two of the new apparatus will replace existing units, which will transition into reserve status, while the third apparatus will be assigned to a new ladder company at Station 12, further expanding the department’s response capabilities.

Deputy Chief Bigelow added, “Throughout the process, the level of support and transparency from the Pierce and Siddons-Martin teams stood out. They took our leadership team to the PACCAR facility to meet with engineers and see the build process firsthand, which gave us a high level of confidence in the apparatus we’re designing. That hands-on experience, along with the collaboration with our fleet services director, made this a very thorough and positive purchasing process.”
