SK Group Selects Pierce High Flow Industrial Pumper to Strengthen Fire Protection Capabilities in South Korea

SouthKorea_Banner_2026This order marks the first Pierce High Flow Industrial Pumper to enter service outside the United States.

APPLETON, Wis. (March 3, 2026)
Pierce Manufacturing Inc., an Oshkosh Corporation (NYSE:OSK) business, today announced South Korea’s SK Group has placed an order for a Pierce® High Flow Industrial Pumper through Pierce dealer MS Trade Company. The apparatus will be the first Pierce High Flow Industrial Pumper in service outside of the United States, representing a significant milestone for Pierce’s global industrial firefighting solutions.

The sale emphasizes SK Group’s ongoing commitment to adopting advanced emergency response equipment to protect some of the world’s largest and complex refinery operations. Headquartered in Seoul, South Korea, SK Group is the country’s second-largest conglomerate and a global leader in energy, semiconductors and technology innovation. Its refinery operations rank among the world’s largest, with a capacity of approximately 840,000 barrels per day.

“Our recent tank fire incidents made it clear we needed a higher-performance solution, and the Pierce High Flow Industrial Pumper stood out immediately,” said Hwang YoonSeong, General Foreman, Safety Team, SK Group. “After reviewing multiple global options, Pierce delivered an exceptional combination of performance, mobility and maintainability. Since 2018, every one of our seven new fire trucks has been a Pierce, supported reliably by MS Trade Company. Seeing the High Flow Industrial Pumper firsthand during testing and hearing strong feedback from current Pierce industrial apparatus customers gave us full confidence to move forward. Pierce has become our trusted partner for critical emergency response.”

MS Trade Company played a pivotal role in facilitating the order. Headquartered in Seoul, MS Trade Company is a general trading company that provides specialized vehicles and equipment, training, maintenance and overhaul services across industries including aviation, firefighting, defense and energy.

To meet the unique challenges of SK Group’s facilities, including narrow roadways and access points that limit fire apparatus positioning, the Pierce High Flow Industrial Pumper was engineered for flow capacity and operational versatility. The truck’s performance and configuration were shaped through years of evaluation and direct engagement among Pierce, MS Trade Company and SK Group’s safety personnel.

Key Specifications of SK Group’s Pierce High Flow Industrial Pumper:

  • Velocity® custom chassis
  • Cummins ISX15, 600 hp engine
  • 5,500 GPM Darley 2ZSM pump (up to 10,000 GPM with pressurized supply)
  • 8,000 GPM deck gun
  • 1,000-gallon foam tank
  • Rear collision avoidance system, side and backup cameras and alarm system
  • 6" front inlet with 4" plumbing, and 6" rear inlet with 5" plumbing for flexible positioning around narrow refinery roads

“SK Group’s refineries operate across large-scale, high-risk environments where response performance, reach and reliability are critical,” said Kristopher Zweiger, Product Manager, Pierce Manufacturing. “This project reflects a true collaboration between Pierce, MS Trade Company and SK Group’s safety team. The high flow industrial pumper provides the volume, mobility and flexibility needed to protect facilities that cannot be adequately covered by fixed systems alone.”
